Why does Roku ask for a payment method?

Setting up a payment method in your Roku account gives you these benefits:

  • Instant sign-up: Quickly start free trials and subscriptions with just a few clicks of your remote and start watching right away.
  • Special offers: Get personalized deals and free trials.
  • Easy subscription management: Subscribe, cancel, and manage all your subscriptions through Roku in one place.
  • See your purchase history: Review detailed invoices as well as monthly spending trends in your Roku account anytime.

Note: After you buy your Roku device and set up your account, there are no extra monthly or yearly fees. You’ll only be charged if you sign up for a subscription or make other purchases.
