If you have a Roku player with a USB port, you can view your personal digital photos on your TV using the Roku USB Media Player channel.

To view a photo:

  • From the Roku home screen, select the Roku USB Media Player channel. (Channel must first be installed from the Roku Channel Store.)
  • Select “Photos” in the Roku USB Media Player channel.
  • Locate the photo you wish to view by navigating through your USB drive’s folder directory. In a folder with both photo files and subfolders, the thumbnails of the photos are shown at the top of the screen and the subfolders at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select the photo you wish to view full screen.

While in full screen mode, you can navigate to other photos in the same folder by pressing LEFT or RIGHT. Or, you can start an automated slideshow. To exit a slideshow, press UP or BACK on your Roku remote control.

Press PLAY on a folder icon to start a slideshow with all the photos in that folder.

To change slideshow settings, press DOWN or OPTIONS while in slideshow mode.

  • Slideshow speed – Select fast (3 seconds), medium (5 seconds) or slow (10 seconds) interval between photos.
  • Shuffle – Turn on/off shuffle. When turned on, shuffle randomly selects the next photo to appear in the slideshow.
  • Photo info – Show/hide the photo file name, date photo taken and number of photo in folder.

Only supported photo file types are shown in the Roku USB Media Player channel. The app hides unsupported file types, as well as folders with no supported file types in them, from view. Click here for a list of supported photo file types.
