How do I install and begin using the Roku iOS (iPhone) app?

This article is applicable to the following models:

 Models All Roku player and TV models



To get started, first download the app from the iTunes App Store onto your iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad). The Roku app is a free download. You must then connect your iOS device to the same home network as your Roku device. The Roku app only works on Wi-Fi and must be connected to the same network to which your Roku device is connected.

Once you’ve launched the app, you’ll be asked to sign in to your Roku account. This will enable you to add and remove channels from your account. If you are not sure which email you used to register, go to Settings > System > About from the home screen if you have a Roku TV, or go to Settings > Account from the home screen of your Roku device. If you forgot your password to your Roku account, click here.

Next, you will be asked to select a Roku device to control. If you have more than one Roku device, match the picture, serial number and/or name displayed for each available device.

If you don’t see your Roku device, tap “Refresh” from the Select Device screen. If you still don’t see your Roku device, try going through network setup again on your Roku device. This will wake your Roku device on your home network. Select “Refresh” from the Select Device screen in the app again.
