With Roku's exciting new casual games, it is easy to get into the action.  All you need is a Roku Game Remote and you are ready to go.  The new Game Remote packs gyroscopic technology allowing for motion sensitive, point-and-click-style game play.  A d-pad and game buttons lets you play some games on a familiar-styled controller.  And of course, it's also used as your Roku player remote to control your favorite content.  

Below are some helpful questions, either to get started or restore functionality.

What do I need to do before I can use the Game Remote? You will need to pair the Game Remote to your Roku 2 player.  Pairing the Game Remote allows to the Roku 2 player allows the remote and player to communicate.  If you have the Roku 2 XS model, the pairing occurs as part of the setup process.  But if you purchased one as an accessory, follow these easy steps to pair an additional remote: (remember to insert batteries into the Game Remote)

Instructions to pair an additional Game Remote

1. Go to Settings>Game Remote Pairing
2. With the battery cover open, press and release the purple pairing button and close the battery cover. The two remote LED will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode. When the remote LED blinking stops, the pairing is complete.

What should I do if the Game Remote stops responding?  If you have another Roku player in the house, you can use that player's Roku remote to easily restore the pairing of the Gaming Remote to the Roku 2 player by following the previous steps to pair an additional Gaming Remote.  If the Gaming remote is the only remote you have, then follow these steps:

Pairing from a restart

1. With the battery cover open, press and release the purple pairing button and close the battery cover.  The two remote LED will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode. When the remote LED blinking stops, the pairing is complete.
2. Unplug the power connector from the back of the Roku 2 player, wait a couple of seconds and re-insert the power connector to turn it back on.
